Would you mind addressing your thoughts behind the overseas brokerage? It's something I've given a cursory thought or two about, but have never acted upon - YET.

The overseas brokerage I have is not something that applies to everyone. It's an account I opened while working overseas as an expat and it is not allowed for someone who works domestically. You need to show them a foreign residence and a letter from your employer stating that you are indeed working for them internationally and at whihc country and which address. The reason I opened is because it offers funds that are not avaialble in the US and it also match your first two years of contribution to a certain percentage, sort of like your employer 401k match.
